Cycling For Charity 2012


This project was carried out successfully with 688 registered participants, 20 staff from Sunway Carnival Mall organising team and Leo members on duty. We raised a sum of RM 20,000 and donated to Rumah Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Cacat and Yee Ren Jing Sheh.



All organizing team were gathered at Sunway Carnival mall at 5.30am early in the morning. After the job distributed, all the Leos were in-charge of registration counter and also goodies bag distribution. Some of us were in-charge of the water station at R&R too.



To high up this charity project, there was an auction which had arranged right after the ride, the auction item was a bicycle with the signature of our Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng on it. It successfully raised Rm 2,000 for this fundraising event.Lucky Draw Session had also arranged for all participants, where the grand prize for the draw was Ogawa Massage Chair worth RM 10,000 and etc.



The organizing team were enjoyed this charity project very much and hoping to have more fundraising projects in future.

‘’We Care . We Serve’’ Visit to Old Folks Home


This district joint project was carried out by Leo Club of Penang Metropolitan (Omega), Leo Club of Sunway Metro Omega and Leo Club of Singapore Alumni on 26th August 2012 (Sunday), from 10.30pm to 12.30pm, at Persatuan Rumah Cahaya Harapan. The Organising Chairperson for this event was Leo Jesyca Leong.



There were total of 19 members who attended and gave support to this project. In addition, there were attendances of Leo from Leo Club of Nan Hwa too.



The project kicked start with a simple visit trip around the home by the committee member, Mrs Chew.  There were approximately 35 old folks who have been staying there.  Then, we serve a simple lunch to the folks and decorating the surroundings with Malaysian flags.  Following by short speeches from the Organizing Chairperson, Lion President, DC for Leo Club Development and representative from each club.
This project was carried out very successfully and we gained some good feedbacks and suggestions to enhance our event next time.

‘’We Believe . We Share’’ Leo Orientation


This project was carried out by Leo Club of Penang Metropolitan (Omega) on 17 August 2012 (Friday), from 8.00pm to 9.00pm at Burmah Road Healthy More.  The Organising Chairperson and speaker for this event was Leo Jesyca Leong.



There were total of 12 members who attended and gave support to this project. In addition to that, there were attendances from friends of Leos too.




The orientation kicked start with a simple and precise slide presentation, introducing about the Leo Club Programme, the motto and the history as well as a brief introduction of Lions Club.  In addition, we introduced the key officers of Lions Cabinet to our club members.  The session ended with a Q&A session.

Recycle Project @ Halaman Kristal


Our Leo Club of Penang Metropolitan (Omega) had successfully organised the Recycled Project on 29 July 2012 (Sunday), from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm at Halaman Kristal Apartment. The Organising Chairperson for this event was Leo Leander Lee Lin.


 There were total of 14 members who were attended and gave support to this project. In addition to that, there were attendances from our Sponsoring Lions Club too. On that day, Leos and friends of Leos gathered for a short briefing, we were then together to collect the recycled materials from the respective floors.



Around 9.30am, PID Ellis Suriyati and Lions Cabinet Officers visited this project and witnessed our progress. They also helped out in collecting recycled materials from the residents.


All the recycled materials were then collected and sold to the recycled center.

Hosting of Youth Exchangee from Japan


Leo Janet Wong from our club had hosted the youth exchangee from Japan, Misaki San, from 23 July 2012 to 1 August 2012, for a period of 10 days.



There were total of 18 members and 2 friends of Leos who met and in this hosting period. In addition to that, Leos from other Leo Clubs joined us too.



She hosted the youth exchange and brought her to the local attraction places like Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si Temple and Penang Museum. Besides that, she also brought the youth exchange to enjoy Penang famous food as well and night markets.



She enjoyed the hosted period and hope to host another youth exchange soon.

“We Fellowship.We Share” - Cycling with Youth Exchangee from Japan and Club Members


Our Leo Club Of Penang Metropolitan (Omega) had successfully organised the fellowship project, “We Fellowship.We Share” Cycling with Youth Exchangee from Japan and club members, on 28 July 2012 (Saturday) from 2.30pm to 8.30pm around the Georgetown Heritage Sites. The Organising Chairperson for this event was Leo Janet Wong.


There were total of 14 members who joined in this fellowship project. In addition to that, Leos from other Leo Clubs joined us too in this fellowship. We rent bicycle for cycling and gathered before we started our journey.



The purpose of this project mainly is to show the youth exchange the Georgetown heritage sites. We also took pictures of those wall artworks which drawn by the famous artist Ernest Zacharevic around the Georgetown Heritage Sites.


The project was carried out successfully and at the same time, fostered the relationship among club members and the youth exchange too.
